Introduction of 'Sandwashing Processing Facility' and 'Ecocell' for eco-friendly dyeing in Vietnam

Jungwoo Vina (CEO Oh Byung-chul), a domestic fabric wheat and export company, is strengthening its competitiveness by developing differentiated high-value-added items to cope with rapidly changing global supply chain reorganization and material trends.
Recently, Jungwoo Vina has introduced sandwashing processing facilities at its local plant in Vietnam to produce unique touch and quality fabrics. Sandwashing fabric is in the spotlight as a material for leisure wear because of its soft touch such as suede and comfortable touch on the skin.
Sandwashing fabric:
Differentiated Materials of Athleisure Wear
Sandwashing is a post-processing process that maximizes soft and flexible touch by repeatedly cutting the surface of fabric through friction with water at room temperature. The fabric made through this process is gaining positive response from global brands such as Lululemon and Victoria's Secret. It is also a popular material starting from Japan and Korea.
However, sandwashing is a task that requires a high degree of proficiency, and it takes up to 8 to 10 hours for one task. It is highly regarded as a high value-added item as it goes through a long working time and manual process.
President Lee Bok-hwa emphasized the advantages of sandwashing, saying, "It is a time-consuming and hard work, but we can provide high-quality products that are marketable."

Pursuing sustainability with 'EcoCell'
Jungwoo Vina introduced Eco-cell, an eco-friendly dyeing process with the aim of developing sustainable materials. Eco-cell maintains a soft touch without chemical additives such as mango or soda, and dyeing is completed within 2 hours. In particular, it is evaluated as a suitable item for ESG management because it can implement the melange effect with 100% cotton material.
President Lee Bok-hwa emphasized, "We provide sustainable materials through an eco-friendly dyeing process and introduce products that meet the needs of global buyers."

Development of 'Special Items' in collaboration
Jungwoo Vina is also focusing on developing special items for global buyers in collaboration with test research institutes. In addition to fabrics that reproduce unique effects such as ▲ 'Burn-out Yarn' and 'Mimic Slub' jointly developed by KOTITI Research Institute and Kyungbang Co., Ltd., Jungwoo Vina is proposing differentiated products using trendy materials such as ▲ 'Eco Denim Pigment' and ▲ 'Casual Cotton' that embody new melange effect.
"We are focusing on developing materials with sustainability and unique characteristics in line with the trend of fabrics that were popular 10 years ago returning to trends," said CEO Lee Bok-hwa, explaining the strategy in response to market changes.
New changes to high value-added items
Jungwoo Vina's strategy is to compete with quality and sustainability in a market where price competition is fierce. After COVID-19, global clothing vendors and fashion companies reorganized their supply chains, and amid strengthened Net-Zero policies, they are focusing on developing eco-friendly and special fabrics suitable for ESG management.
In particular, we are continuously expanding our efforts to develop eco-friendly materials and to increase our competitiveness in the global market, thinking about 'the future environment and people soon'. Through this, we are growing into the world's first-class company with global competitiveness in an era of infinite competition that demands constant change and innovation.
