As a result, the total amount of funds donated by Chairman Oh to the industry amounts to KRW 250 million.
Chairman Oh Byung-chul already donated 100 million won (93,815 U.S. dollars) in foundation development fund for 10 years to the Seomsanryeon Scholarship Foundation in 2012, asking the company to use it to nurture talented people in the textile and fashion industries. He also donated an additional 100 million won (93,400 dollars) to the Seomsanryeon Scholarship Foundation late last year.
On the day of the "2025 Board of Directors and Regular General Meeting" of the Seomsu Association on February 26, 50 million won was donated to the Seomsu Association as a power generation fund for the win-win development of the textile industry community. This is the first case of a power generation fund donated by a member company since the establishment of the Seomsu Association. On this day, President Lee Bok-hwa donated the power generation fund on behalf of Chairman Oh Byung-chul, and Bang Joo-deuk, chairman of the Seomsu Association, delivered a plaque of appreciation and thanked him.
Chairman Bang Joo-deuk said, "I would like to thank Chairman Jung Woo-bi and Oh Byung-chul for donating a large amount of 50 million won as the first power generation fund donated to the association. This donation will be useful in places that are essential for the development of the textile industry, and although the internal and external business environment is not good, I hope that all of the association's member companies will make good results in textile exports and raise a lot of power generation funds that can contribute to the textile industry."
In addition, part of the 100 million won donated by Chairman Oh at the end of last year was used for scholarships for children of textile workers in the island's textile industry and long-term service contributions.
